Welcome to the site for the Massachusetts Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program.
The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) is implementing an Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program which will launch on July 28, 2011. Massachusetts households, including those served by municipal light plants, that trade in an existing appliance with a new eligible ENERGY STAR® qualified appliance purchased on or after July 28, 2011 are eligible to apply for the appliance rebate. Approved applicants will receive a rebate check in the mail. Appliance purchase(s) must be made in Massachusetts from a registered participating retailer. Online purchases are not eligible for the rebate.
The program will offer rebates on ENERGY STAR room air conditioners and ENERGY STAR refrigerators*. The program is expected to fund approximately 20,000 rebates worth $2 million and is estimated to save around 1.8 million kilowatt hours in a year, enough to power 250 homes for a year.
Prior to July 28, customers can call toll free (877) 574-1128 for program information. When the program launches on July 28, applications can be completed online at www.MassEnergyRebates.com or by calling (877) 574-1128, if Internet access is not available.
